Move it or rest it?

January 30, 2024

When you feel pain do you avoid those activities that make it worse or do you endure them and try and tough it out?

Well, you’re both right – and wrong.

For example, if you’ve recently broken a bone, avoiding painful tasks and activities for a while is sensible and helps your recovery.  But, if you are still avoiding them 6 months later then that’s not so helpful.

On the other hand, if you have simple back pain or damaged tendons, doing tasks and activities that hurt a bit early on can in fact have a positive effect on your recovery.

Being in pain is not fun.  Keeping on top of pain is complex.  There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach, unfortunately.

Fear not! We’re here to help navigate your pain questions, such as:

  • Why am I in pain?
  • How serious is it?
  • How long will it last?
  • Should I Move it or Rest it?

We handle these questions every day. The answers we provide help clear the way to a pain-free you.
